Rainbow Six: SMOL Description
Rainbow Six: SMOL is a spin-off of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series, created in the form of an isometric shooter with roguelike elements. The game is the result of a collaboration between Ubisoft and Netflix.
Plot
Rainbow Six: SMOL takes us to an alternative version of the universe created for the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series. During the game, we play the role of a Rainbow squad recruit and lead a team of operators. Dealing with cultists, we must save the world from the looming threat.
Mechanics
In Rainbow Six: SMOL we watch the action in an isometric view. The game offers five modes, and is driven by procedurally generated missions, during which our task is to free hostages, defuse bombs and eliminate opponents.
The way we carry it out depends on our preferences. We can be precise, avoiding unnecessary bloodshed, as well as level entire buildings (the environment here is susceptible to damage), killing every opponent who stands in our way. Among the adversaries we will find not only hostile people, but also demons, dragons and other monsters.
The game provides us with a range of operators, who are diversified in terms of equipment, fighting style, and strengths and weaknesses. For example, while Sledge uses a hammer and prefers to enter the action with a bang, Valkyrie prefers to remain in the shadows, sneaking behind the enemies and avoiding direct confrontations.
As we progress, we unlock new equipment and operators, as well as tactical patches (providing unique perks) and power tomes. All of this makes us able to face bigger challenges over time. It is worth remembering that the death of a recruit on the battlefield is permanent.
Technical aspects
Both the audio and visuals of Rainbow Six: SMOL are kept in a cartoon style.
