We also have a special ability allowing us to change form and gain new powers.
Project Tower is an action-adventure game inspired by titles such as Returnal, Remnant II and Uncharted. It was developed by the independent French studio Yummy Games, previously known mainly for mobile games and outsourcing.
Story
Project Tower takes us to a science-fiction universe. The Earth has been invaded by an alien race known as the Hiks. The invaders placed the surviving humans in towering structures prepared for the titular Project Tower. Their task is to break through the next floors, which invaders are watching, collecting data to improve their army.
During the game, we take on the role of one of the prisoners who tries to reach the top of the tower, which is his only chance to regain freedom.
Gameplay
In Project Tower we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). We explore the tower and also face the challenges prepared for us. There are various opponents we have to fight and also puzzles waiting to be solved.
The skirmishes are dynamic, and apart from regular enemies, much more powerful bosses stand in our way. The clashes with the latter are based on the bullet hell shooter genre, so we are subjected to a real hail of bullets, which we must avoid. Puzzles, on the other hand, primarily involve interacting with elements of the environment.
On the battlefield, our character uses futuristic melee and ranged weapons, making use of an energy sword, a rifle or a pistol. As we progress, we accumulate better arsenal and unlock new skills.
Changing form
Our character's unique ability is changing form. When the standard arsenal proves to be insufficient, we can transform into one of the creatures residing in the tower. This results not only in a change of appearance, but also in gaining powers characteristic of a given entity, which we can use against adversaries.
