A free-to-play hybrid of an online action RPG and an extraction title, created by authors of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. Our job in Project Pantheon is to fight our way through dark locations, gather precious loot and safely make our way to the exit. We can also visit the fortress hub between missions.

Project Pantheon is a game that combines features of action RPGs and extraction games, which is why its creators call it an "ExtrAction RPG". The game is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions, and it was developed by Wolcen Studio - a development team whose portfolio includes the game Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem.

Game world and the main plot

Project Pantheon takes us to a post-apocalyptic fantasy universe. The source of inspiration for the creators were various cultures and their associated stories, led by Norse mythology, on which the beginning of our adventure in this land is based.

Before the premiere, the developers promised that the final shape of the world they created would largely depend on the opinions of the players involved in the game's development.

As for the story - during the game we take on the roles of characters who, after passing to the other world, received a task from Death itself to restore order in the devastated reality.

Gameplay

In Project Pantheon the action is viewed from an isometric perspective. While exploring locations, we mainly focus on completing quests and fighting opponents. We eliminate hordes of enemies in close combat or from a distance. Combat is dynamic and involves using weapons and combat skills. As we progress, we develop characters and accumulate better equipment - from more powerful weapons, through better armor, to artifacts that further increase our combat potential.

Following the pattern of extraction games, in order to avoid losing the loot obtained during a given expedition, we must reach the exit from the location in one piece. Our base of operations is a hidden fortress, which we return to between subsequent escapades. Visits to the fortress are an opportunity not only to make improvements, but also to exchange equipment and get rid of unnecessary items, as well as to prepare for upcoming challenges.
