A first-person perspective shooter that takes place in the universe of EVE Online. Project Nova is a free-to-play game focused on multiplayer. Instead of a classic single player campaign, the game offers various multiplayer modes. Most of them take place in narrow corridors of ships and space stations – the developers focused on dynamic encounters instead of battles taking place in large open spaces.
Project Nova is a multiplayer first-person shooter released on PC. The game takes place in the universe known from the MMO game EVE Online. The title uses free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions. It was developed by studio CCP.
Mechanics
Project Nova for PC is a game focused only on multiplayer – it doesn’t contain a classic campaign. The title concentrates on traditional FPS battles between small groups of players. Most of these fights take place on ships and space stations. The game focuses on dynamical battles in small corridors instead of on battles on large, open spaces.
The gameplay mechanics are strongly influenced by tactical shooters. The characters controlled by the players can die very quickly, forcing users to play cautiously. Project Nova offers eight classes with various specializations and equipment. The title also offers a development system. However, it doesn’t enable the player to make his character stronger. Instead, the experience points enable the user to adapt his soldier to preferred play style, basically creating a personalized class. Thanks to that, beginners aren’t forced to use weaker equipment than veterans.
Technical aspects
Project Nova for PC was developed on Unreal Engine 4.0. It is worth adding, that – in contrast to Dust 514 – the developers did not planned to include direct relations between this game and EVE Online.

Project Nova - EVE Online Devs Cancelled Another FPS
CCP informed about the cancellation of the online shooter Project Nova. This is yet another FPS after DUST 514 and Project Legion, which was abandoned by EVE Online developers. However, a new production of this genre is planned.
