A basketball manager which is a new installment in the popular series developed by Cyanide (known from Blood Bowl or Pro Cycling Manager series). Pro Basketball Manager 2017 sees us assume control of a chosen team from one of the numerous basketball leagues, while our job is to lead it as best as we can.

Pro Basketball Manager 2017 for PC is a new edition of a popular series of basketball managers, developed as a joint effort between experienced Cyanide studios (known from Blood Bowl or Pro Cycling Manager series) and French Umix. The series is a reboot of Basketball Pro Management series, established in 2012 by the second studio, and is characteristic for its complexity, similar to the most popular sport management games such as Football Manager.

Mechanics

When it comes to basic mechanics, Pro Basketball Manager 2017 isn’t much different from its predecessor or other games from the genre. We assume control over one of basketball teams. Our job is to lead the team to victory and world renown. Depending on our preferences, we can pick up a seasoned team from a well-known league, or choose a more difficult task, and take on a novice squad at the beginning of their road to success. Our responsibilities include making transfers, managing players, preparing workout plans, composing tactics for the matches to come, as well as taking care of club’s infrastructure and the auxiliary staff.

The new edition contains an extensive database with over 10 thousand players and 70 licensed and faithfully recreated tournaments taking place all around the world. Compared to the previous installment, the authors decided to accentuate immersion, introducing new random events and media interactions. Aside from that, the developers introduced some changes to scouting and recruiting mechanics.

Game Modes

Pro Basketball Manager 2017 is a singleplayer-only title, without any multiplayer modes or online functionalities.

Technical Aspects

When it comes to the graphics, Pro Basketball Manager 2017 for PC has a similar visual style to the one introduced in the 2016 edition. Nevertheless, the game received certain upgrades for the interface as well as match engine, enabling us to track each game in a 2D or 3D view. Additionally, the new installment is integrated with Steam Workshop, allowing players to share various fan-made updates, such as upgraded databases.
