Prey: Mooncrash

Prey: Mooncrash is a DLC for the 2017 game Prey. Both productions were developed by Arkane, also know for Dishonored, and published by Bethesda Softworks.

Plot

You play as a hacked called Peter, employed by the KASMA corporation to spy its greatest rival, the TransStar concern, known from the base game. Soon after the events of Prey, TransStar's lunar base stops broadcasting transmissions, and the protagonist has to go there and discover what happened. His next task is to make it out of there alive.

The mission is deadly, but Peter has no choice, as the contract with KASMA states that he can only return home if he does absolutely everything his employers demand of him.

Mechanics

Just like the base game, Prey: Mooncrash features an unusual approach to FPS gameplay. Firearms are rare, and ammunition is even more so. To survive, you have to learn how to properly use the elements of the environment and the protagonist's skills.

Instead of a more traditional campaign, Mooncrash features a randomly generated adventure, in which the challenges, dangers, and rewards vary with each playthrough.

The DLC was designed so that it can be replayed many times, allowing you to learn new tactics and unlock previously unavailable characters. Each character has their own special skills, which can be developed. Apart from Peter, the characters include engineer Joan, security guard Bhatii, armed with a shotgun, and Andrius, who, while physically weak, is a powerful psychic.

Technical aspects

Mooncrash is not a standalone expansion and requires the Prey base game to run.
