An FPP sim game in which we take a pressure washer and fight dirt on the streets of fictional Muckingham (but not only there). PowerWash Simulator can be played solo or with up to 6 players.
PowerWash Simulator is a simulation game that allows us to take on the role of a pressure washer operator, earning a living by cleaning various dirt and deposits. It was developed by FuturLab studio.
Plot
PowerWash Simulator takes us on a journey to the fictional town of Muckingham. This once picturesque place has begun to cover itself with dirt, losing its former splendor. As if that wasn't enough, the nearby volcano began to awaken, Bigfoot appeared nearby, and to top it all off, the mayor's cat was lost without a trace. As all these misfortunes were started by a wave of filth, the city needs a hero to deal with it once and for all.
Game mechanics
In PowerWash Simulator, we observe the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). We play the role of the owner of a cleaning company and perform tasks involving cleaning various locations and objects with the help of a pressure washer. Working, we visit a variety of locations, located both in Muckingham itself and far beyond its borders (we even visit the surface of Mars). While removing dirt, moss, mold or graffiti, we don't have to look at any limitations imposed from above or time limits, and our actions are not evaluated in any way (unless we decide to play in one of the additional game modes).
What we should take note of, however, is the right choice of work tools. We can equip the pressure washer with a variety of washers, nozzles, extensions or cleaners. Each of these accessories is designed to fight a different type of dirt, so the choice matters as much as possible. As we progress, we unlock access to more upgrades, allowing us to face more and more challenges. We can also modify the appearance of our character, selecting a variety of skins and gloves.
Game modes
The pillar of the PowerWash Simulator game is the career mode, which we can complete alone or in co-op with another player. In addition, a casual game mode awaits checking, where up to 6 people can play. Moreover, the game offers special challenges, in which we fight against time or try to work with as little water as possible.
Technical aspects
Graphics in PowerWash Simulator looks decent. Overall it is not far from the level to which we are accustomed by other games of this type.

One thing that is sorely missing, however, is gyro aiming. I don’t think we can stress enough what a match made in heaven gyro would be in a game like this, but it’s made doubly disappointing by the stiffness that the standard dual analogue setup. It’s not a dealbreaker, and there’s still a roaring good time to be had here, but oh how we ached to wave our controller around and have it actually do something in-game.

I’m conflicted when it comes to PowerWash Simulator. On one hand, it’s an absolute bore and a chore with one-dimensional gameplay – can I even call it gameplay? – but on the other, it’s still strangely fun and moreish, and seeing the grime trickle away and the percentage done counter ticking slowly upwards was enough to keep me wasting water for hours on end. It’s an oddity, for sure, but one that I can’t seem to peel myself away from, and the more I play it, the more I wonder if the world wouldn’t be a cleaner place if we could all get the job done with a gamepad.

My actual car is covered in grime and road dirt, but I’m happy to ignore the laborious task of washing it in favor of doing the same task in virtual reality. PowerWash Simulator has always been an addictive, relaxing, and satisfying game. PowerWash Simulator VR feels like a game that has found its true home and the most convincing version of itself possible. It’s a great addition to the growing library for the Quest 3.
