A 2D game, tasking us with building and managing a magic potion store. Potion Tycoon has us recruiting staff, setting prices, experimenting with new potions and their effects.

Potion Tycoon is an economic strategy game tasking us with creating a prosperous magical potion shop. We must establish efficient production lines, competing for good prices from suppliers and grow plants ourselves, our products helping famous adventurers survive their exploits.

The game was developed by a Finnish studio Snowhound Games.

Mechanics

Our business in Potion Tycoon starts with creating our store building. We must determine the layout and size of the rooms, stacking them up tall or digging underground. Afterwards, we must equip them with necessary tools, creating labs, storehouses and trading points. We'll also select accessories and decorations to attract customers.

A store cannot operate on its own - we must employ salespeople, warehouse workers and alchemists. Over time, their skills increase and they become better at their jobs. Our establishment could also use security to fight off monsters haunting it.

Potion Tycoon lets us significantly influence the store's assortment, meaning we'll create our own recipes, each ingredient affecting the final result (such as healing or invisibility). We can also choose the design of the bottle to draw attention to the product and set the price. Achieving a monopoly on a unique potion will let us freely dictate terms of sale to the dismay of our competition.

High reputation and reacting to trends will bring us sympathy from specific social groups, such as wizards and witches, who'll gladly supply at our place before traveling or rituals.
