Pokemon Ultra Moon Description
Pokemon Ultra Moon for 3DS is another installment of the popular RPG series from Game Freak. It was released along with Pokemon Ultra Sun as the improved versions of the 7th generation handheld consoles launch titles, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
Plot
Pokemon Ultra Moon for 3DS takes place in the same universe as the series’ previous installment. We will once again explore the Aloa archipelago as a novice pokemon trainer who desires to become the very best trainer in the world. Pokemon Ultra Sun has a slightly different story than its predecessor and is closer to being a sequel such as Pokemon Black 2 than a new version the game like Pokemon Yellow or Pokemon Platinum.
Mechanics
In terms of gameplay, Pokemon Ultra Moon for 3DS is not that much different from the previous installments of the series. We explore the game’s world, do quests, catch more and more Pokemon, and take part in turn-based duels with other trainers. We increase our pokemons’ combat abilities by combat, training, and using various special items.
The game comes with a new story and new types of pokemons. Some of them are available only in Pokemon Ultra Moon, some only in Pokemon Ultra Sun, a typical aspect of the series that aims to encourage interaction between the players. We will also encounter an alternative version of Lunala, one of the masots of the 7th generation, who was fused with another legendary pokemon.
Technical Aspects
When it comes to visuals, Pokemon Ultra Moon for 3DS is not that different from what we could see in Pokemon Moon and still has cartoonish visuals, interesting pokemon design, and an atmospheric soundtrack. However, not everything is exactly the same as it was. Some of the locations were changed and some are completely new. In addition to that, the game now fully supports the PokeBank app that allows us to store pokemon not only from the 7th generation, but also from other pokemon games released on Nintendo 3DS, including GameBoy classic available via virtual console. It allows us to add pokemons like Lugia, Entei, or Xerneas to our party that are simply not available in Pokemon Ultra Moon.
