PixWing is an arcade game. It was designed by a three-person RymPow Team, founded and developed after hours by employees of Warsaw's 11-bit studios (Anomaly series, This War of Mine). The title was released in a premium model meaning it doesn't have any microtransactions.
Mechanics
In PixWing, we control a variety of flying machines, including a biplane, a jet and an antigravitational futuristic car (there is a dragon, too). The game consists of traveling through nicely designed maps and passing through the next gates, often located in hard to reach places. The routes are filled with a variety of obstacles, as well as opponents (e.g. dirigibles armed with rocket launchers).
Game modes
PixWing has two modes. The basic one is Time Trial, in which we have to complete several dozen tracks in a set time. The tracks are located in various locations, which can also be visited freely in the Free Roam mode. There, we unlock new flying machines and alternative skins for them.
Technical aspects
PixWing has nice 3D graphics made of large pixels and a great control system. It uses a gyroscope, engaging the player's entire body. Unlike other mobile aerial and racing games, in PixWing, making a sudden turn or turning the machine 180 degrees requires the same movement as it would do in reality. It's not surprising that the creators included a calorie counter in their game. If you don't like it, you can use more conventional control schemes.
