PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry is another game from the PixelJunk franchise, which is being developed by Q-Games. The game was developed with VR sets in mind.
Story
The story layer does not play a particularly important role in PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry. The players take on the role of a food truck worker and has to prepare meals for the hordes of zombies attacking them - zombies who have been fed, turn back into people.
Mechanics
In PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry we observe the action from the first-person perspective. During the struggle we prepare various meals like hamburgers, pizzas (for which you should choose the appropriate ingredients) or fries. When the dish is ready, we throw it at one of the living corpses who are constantly moving in our direction - opponents who are fed on time turn back into people and disappear; and when we fall prey to one of the corpses, the fun comes to an end.
That's why the game resembles a race against time - with the preparation of subsequent dishes we have to manage before the zombies get us. It is worth remembering that apart from the common enemies, whose "cure" requires the preparation of one portion, we also have to face oversized bosses with a much greater appetite.
The game requires both VR goggles and motion controllers to work - with the help of the latter we control the hands of the hero, so we prepare subsequent dishes and throw them towards our opponents; we can look around freely by moving our heads.
Game modes
Although PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry can only be played solo, the title is equipped with a scoreboard system - so you can compete with other people and beat the records they set.
Technical aspects
Three-dimensional visuals of PixelJunk VR Dead Hungry have been maintained in a characteristic, slightly caricatural design, which effectively masks deficiencies in the level of detail.
