A dynamic racing game in which we take control of one of the small cars. We are racing on interestingly designed routes. The action is shown from a bird's eye view.

PixelJunk Racers is a simple racing game in which we take control of one of the small cars on the board. These vehicles travel on top-down designated rails, although there is also the possibility of jumping on adjacent lanes. However, control is very simple, because most of the time we deal only with determining the speed at which the controlled car is to move. Corners on the route must be taken into account. This is because it is not possible to fall out of a fixed track.

In terms of the form of presentation of the race, PixelJunk Racers is reminiscent of Championship Sprint. Both titles are sold through the PlayStation Network service. Q-Games is responsible for the preparation and release of PixelJunk Racers. The developer has also developed Star Fox Command for Nintendo DS.

Players can count on three basic play modes - Quick Race, Tournament Mode and Score Attack. More importantly, however, we can participate in many different types of races. So not necessarily overtaking all the competitors and getting to the finish line happily must be tantamount to winning. One of the available modes requires, for example, avoiding obstacles scattered along the route. By performing a sufficient number of such manoeuvres, it is possible to turn a controlled car into a fireball, thanks to which it will be possible to get rid of the other participants of the race. It may also happen that we will be forced to avoid attacks of other vehicles, which may turn into missiles or other objects threatening us.

Regardless of the type of race you choose, it is always the case that you can see the entire course on the screen. The variety of tracks is considerable - there are both oval and curved objects available. In addition, the routes have been set in many different climate zones.

The producer took care of a properly developed multiplayer, offering the option of playing on the Internet. Visually, the PixelJunk Racers performs very well. Noteworthy are the interesting effects accompanying the vehicles on the route.
