Refreshed second part of the strategy and music game series. Developers didn't introduce any new features to the game, but improved the graphics, which work in the native 1080p and dynamic 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro.

[1:00] Patapon 2 Remastered trailer #1
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Stephen Tailby
Patapon 2 Remastered makes it easy to fall in love with those adorable eyeball creatures all over again. It follows in the footsteps of the first game's PS4 revival, and in doing so it repeats all the highs and lows. You'll struggle to find a gameplay experience as unique as this, and it remains an addictive time sink, but somewhat obtuse design and hectic battles can easily throw you off. It has its flaws, but it's an eccentric and charming game that will eventually have you dancing to its rhythm.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Dominic Leighton
A fun and funky sequel, Patapon 2's bolstered roster of cheerful eyeball folk make for another welcome trip soundtracked to the beat of Pata Pata Pata Pon. It's a shame then that the remaster feels incomplete, offering an experience that's fundamentally less comprehensive than the PSP original.
ZTGD: 7 / 10 by Anthony Mann
Patapon 2 is a great game; this remaster is only just okay.
Patapon 2 Remastered Description
Patapon 2 Remastered, available for PS4, is a remastered version of Patapon 2, which was released in 2008 on PSP. Apart from changes in the graphics (native 1080p and dynamic 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro), it does not offer any major novelties compared to the original.
Plot
The second part of Patapons' adventures continues the plot of the previous title, in which Patapons decided to look for a new home. Unfortunately, after the sea monster's attack, the cheerful team landed on an unknown land, ruled by the Kampon tribe. Again, the heroes must fight for survival.
Mechanics
Our task is to help them - we must lead brave beings to battle. We do this by beating an appropriate rhythm, using buttons on the gamepad. In Patapon 2 Remastered, the authors introduced an additional easy level of difficulty and some other simplifications. The game is not too difficult, especially since death is only temporary and in case of failure, our main character is reborn after some time.
In addition, the game introduces several new units - the flying Toripon, the devastating Robopon and Mahopon which uses magic. An evolutionary tree has also been introduced - it allows players to unlock individual types of units. We can obtain a total of almost 50 rare specimens of Patapons, about 500 items and weaponry elements useful during combat in more than 80 missions.
The authors have also created a few new opponents, which, like in the first part, will be defeated by making special combinations of attacks. In many cases, we also take part in rhythmic duels of various kinds. Thanks to a large number of new elements, the game provides about 20 hours of addictive fun.
