Parkasaurus Description
Parkasaurus is an economic strategy game, drawing on the achievements of such games as Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis or Theme Park. The title was developed by the small, independent studio WashBear.
Mechanics
As the title suggests, in Parkasaurus the player takes on the role of a manager of an amusement park, whose main attraction are dinosaurs. During the game, we observe the action mainly in isometric view, although it is possible to switch to first-person perspective as well. We start the game in an empty area and with a small amount of cash, which enables us to take care of the first attractions for visitors, and so above all - bringing in the first prehistoric reptiles and building ranges for them. Thanks to the visits of guests, with time the number of zeros on our account begins to grow, which enables us to work on new technologies, build more lures for tourists and finally bring more and more magnificent dinosaurs to our park.
It should be borne in mind that every creature requires strictly defined living conditions. Therefore, we have to take care not only about the shape of the enclosure or topography of the area made available to it, but also about the use of appropriate materials and planting specific vegetation. In addition, by reading reviews written by guests, we can adjust the attractions we offer to their expectations, which will be reflected in better earnings.
We don't only use the funds to expand the park and work on new inventions (e.g. time travel to get unique eggs from which the desired specimens of prehistoric reptiles will hatch), but also to employ more and more skilled workers. The key to success is to maintain the right balance between revenue and expenditures. Of course, not everything can be predicted - natural disasters occurring throughout the year may turn out to be a problem even for the best manager, and complications also cause the reptiles to escape.
Technical aspects
Parkasaurus features three-dimensional visuals, which adopt an eye-catching, cartoonish style. The gameplay is accompanied by a catchy soundtrack.
