Paradise is another adventure game designed by Benoit Sokal – a famous comic books writer and the author of Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy and Syberia franchise. The game is set in Africa, a fictitious country called Maurania, to be specific. This is where the main character – a young woman named Ann Smith – travels to.

The woman travels to Africa from Switzerland in order to meet her father, the dictator of Maurania, whom she has not seen in a while. The man controls the country from onboard a massive war steamship, traveling along the bank of the main river. However, the machine has troubles to hold against the centrifugal force, which dares the local rebels to intensify their activities – they even manage to shoot down Ann’s plane. Although the protagonist survives the crush, she falls into deep amnesia. The daughter of the African dictator loses all her memories, and the only information about herself is to be found in her ID and personal belongings. Unaware of her previous plans, the women tries to go back to Switzerland as soon as possible.

In Paradise you control not only Ann, but also the leopard that accompanies her, who has a number of useful skills (e.g. can see in the dark and climb otherwise inaccessible places). The particular duet visits four main locations on their journey: Madargane - a city attacked by the rebels, Baobab Village, emerald mines, and the Black Ship. The latter is the residence of the father of Miss Smith, cruel Rodon, and his men.

In terms of visual style, Paradise looks a lot like Syberia games. Real-time rendered 3D models (e.g. characters) are displayed on pre-rendered backgrounds. The user interface is based on point & click rules, which makes it very intuitive. It is also noteworthy that the soundtrack was composed by Dimitri Bodiansky, the author of music to Still Life and Little Big Adventure 2.
