Outpost Zero is hybrid game, combining elements of FPS, survival and real-time strategy in an original way. The title was developed by Symmetric Games, and its publishing on PC was handled by tinyBuild Games.

Story

Outpost Zero takes place in a distant future, when mankind, in order to survive, was forced to find a new planet fit to live on. The player takes on the role of a robot whose spacecraft has landed on a relatively friendly planet called Gaia, and its mission is to establish a self-sufficient colony. However, the task is not an easy one, as local pirates and representatives of the local fauna are hindering its implementation.

Mechanics

The action in Outpost Zero is observed from FPP. In the course of the game we mainly deal with battling opponents and the development and defense of our headquarters. An important role is played by the creation of efficient production chains and the acquisiton of resources, used build new structures and reinforcements, as well as the creation of improvements for weapons and armour in factories. The source of resources can be both the supplies accumulated by our adversaries (which we gain when capturing their fortresses), as well as mines that we set up.

Of course, our robot is not the only one to land on the surface of the planet Gaia. The player is given the opportunity to manufacture other machines controlled by Artificial Intelligence - we can delegate our companions to work on the production of equipment and acquisition of resources or send them to the battlefield. At the same time, it is worth providing them with the best weapons and taking care of their morale (which can be achieved, for example, by providing them with luxurious accommodation), thus increasing their productivity and combat effectiveness.

Game modes

Outpost Zero is designed for multiplayer fun - players can form alliances and work together to accomplish their tasks.

Technical issues

3D visuals of Outpost Zero present high quality. Particularly noteworthy are the detailed creatures living on the planet Gaia and the detailed surroundings; a realistic lighting system is also worth a mention.
