Steam
A free-to-play FPS, primarily focused on multiplayer gameplay, realism and tactics. In Operation: Harsh Doorstop, we find our ourselves on various battlefields (historical and present) and perform a variety of tasks that require close teamwork. The authors of the game rely heavily on mods and on working together with the community.
Operation: Harsh Doorstop is a tactical FPS developed primarily for multiplayer gameplay. The game was created by the independent American team Drakeling Labs, and is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
It draws inspirations from games such as Squad and Arma III and it debuted in early access, which was supposed to enable its development in cooperation with the community.
Gameplay
In Operation: Harsh Doorstop we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game takes us to the open-structured battlefields and allows us to participate in both contemporary and historical or fictional conflicts - from World War I and II, through the Vietnam War, ending with an alien invasion.
We operate individually or in teams, eliminating other players and performing missions. The objectives of the mission vary depending on the chosen game mode, and their implementation often requires close cooperation of the entire team and the adoption of the right tactics. In addition to a wide arsenal of firearms and combat gadgets, the authors provide us with a range of vehicles.
Mods
Operation: Harsh Doorstop was created thanks to financial and substantive support from players. The game largely relies on the work of modders preparing new content for it. Mods enrich it with additional maps, weapons or gameplay features, as well as entire new game modes. One of the available mods transfers the action to the world straight from the movie Starship Troopers.
Coop and other game modes
We can play Operation: Harsh Doorstop alone or in multiplayer mode over the Internet. The game allows for cooperation or competition with other players.
Game engine
Operation: Harsh Doorstop operates based on Unreal Engine technology.
