OneShot is a two-dimensional adventure game that approaches the formula in a very unusual way. The title forces the player to think about their decisions and offers gameplay that goes beyond what we see on the screen. Little Cat Feet studio is responsible for creating this production. It was done using RPGMaker.
Story
The player takes on the role of a young girl with cat eyes, who wakes up in an unknown place - a wilderness full of robots, pieces of different lands and ubiquitous darkness. Inhabitants of this strange world almost immediately start to call our heroine "The Chosen" or "Messiah".... but what does it actually mean?
Mechanics
The PC version of OneShot is based on typical adventure game mechanics but is far from being a typical member of the genre. The game environment is two-dimensional, the action is observed from above. Although just like in classic adventure games, we travel the world, talk to characters, collect various types of items and solve puzzles, the title also has a habit of reaching for very unusual tools and ideas for creating gameplay. We are talking about things like addressing the player directly (instead of the avatar) or using a web browser outside the actual game. At some point, the player becomes another hero of the game, establishing a characteristic relationship with the original protagonist.
Game modes
OneShot has a single-player game only.
Technical aspects
OneShot is a relatively simple, independent production and it is visible in its retro-style visuals. The game is completely two-dimensional.
