At the end of the 21st century, the world was not ruled by individual states, but by huge corporations - holding in their claws all the things necessary for mankind's continued existence. One of such molochs is WAR (World Aeronautics and Robotics) - a concern that has gained dominance by producing powerful, man-made robots. The first prototypes of machines were to be used for space research, but as it happens in life, their military potential was quickly discovered. Pilots controlling robots started to prepare their machines for a real fight in controlled tournaments, which over time gained enormous popularity. It was used by the WAR corporation, which, seeing the confusion around its inventions, decided to organize a competition for the best crews. The last to remain on the battlefield will be able to take control of one of Jupiter's moons, Ganimedes.

One Must Fall 2097 is a massive killing that will allow you to take part in this tournament. As one of the pilots, you will take control of the selected unit, lead it to victory and earn a fortune at the same time. As long as, of course, you manage to master the machine in such a way as to beat all the competitors trying to do the same.

As in any other game of this type, you start with the choice of a player. The selection is divided into two stages. First of all, you choose among the available pilots, which differ in power, dexterity and endurance. Then you will choose the type of robot you want to control. Each of them is characterized by different abilities, blows and general combat conditions. As there are ten pilots as well as robots, this gives a total of one hundred different combinations. Finding the optimal solution may take you a lot of time, but thanks to that the game will not get bored quickly. When it comes to gameplay, there are two types of games to choose from. The first one is the fight one in one, the second is the actual tournament, graded in terms of difficulty into four categories.

While in traditional skirmishes the only thing that counts is victory, in a tournament there is an economic factor. With the money gained during the fight you will be able to equip your wards with better components, or simply buy other robots. Thanks to this, throughout the entire competition, it is possible to change the competitors, as well as the fighting methods, resulting from the more destructive arsenal. This is definitely the strongest point of the game and permanently distinguishing it from other murderous.

Depending on the robot we are in charge of, the fight may take a diametrically different turn. Smaller units are faster, but have a less destructive arsenal. Large machines have truly destructive abilities, but the speed of blows leaves a lot to be desired. It is worth noting that in the game there is also an important pilot, who under the influence of strokes may lose consciousness for a moment (this symbolizes a smaller bar at the top of the screen). By viciously attacking an opponent, we can lead to his freezing, which will open the way for us to perform e.g. a deadly combo. The last interesting element of One Must Fall 2097 is the equipment of the arenas, which can help the opponent in our extermination. A live cage, spikes that emerge from the darkness, or the constant firing of fighters over the desert can effectively hurt us. Of course, these surprises can be used to your advantage, which is undoubtedly advisable.

One Must Fall 2097 is a perfect killing. Although the machines are not as impressive in terms of design as in the Rise of the Robots, their nice animation, a large suit of blows and comboes, more than compensate for aesthetic imperfections. A big plus is also due to programmers for the economic solutions in the tournament and the attractiveness of the show. Subsequent arenas make a huge impression and can often accidentally spoil your blood when you're virtually sure of winning.
