A story as simple as a cepa construction. You are a Cyborg, and your task is to get to the headquarters of a megacorporation, where you have to destroy the evil and cunning Artificial Intelligence. As the computer has mastered all the robots in the building, they need to be defeated first. Only then will you complete the main task, provided you have enough skills and patience.
The release of Rise of the Robots was probably preceded by the most spectacular advertising campaign that computer games could boast of in the first half of the nineties. Mirage Media S.C.'s product was on everyone's lips before it even saw the light of day. Amazing high-resolution graphics, great animation, unique music by Brian May of Queen and this divine playability - all these superlatives made the pressure on the Rise of the Robots huge. When, after a long wait, the program was finally released, in the players' environment one could only hear the moaning of the profession.
The only bright point of Rise of the Robots is the graphics. High resolution and very nice performance of the participating robots has a positive impact on the visual experience. And here, unfortunately, the praise ends as well. If playability is taken into account, Mirage Media's product has no playability at all. In Single Player mode, we can only select Cyborg, other robots are only achievable if we invite a friend to the duel. All characters move as if someone put a stick in a place where their back loses its noble name, and in addition, they have a minimal set of special blows, which in the era of Mortal Kombat was a programmatic suicide. The whole game can be played with one blow and this is not an idea of critics, but an authentic fact. I omit such important issues as that when we jump over an opponent, our hero should turn in his direction....
Rise of the Robots is a total flap. Decent graphics and bearable music are not able to make up for the lack of playability, and this one cries out for vengeance to Heaven. Comparing this program to Mortal Kombat is an insult to the latter. If Rise of the Robots can even be classified somewhere, it is rather in the league of Chinese rotters like Sango Fighter.
