Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game is a sports game which, as the title suggests, is the official game of the Tokyo Olympic Games, moved from 2020 to 2021. The game was developed and published by SEGA, which produced other games accompanying the event, namely Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Sonic at the Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020.

Mechanics

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game allows us to try our hand at 18 sports disciplines. These include the 100 metre run, 4x100 metre relay and hurdles, hammer throw, long jump, baseball, basketball, tennis, beach volleyball, BMX, boxing, judo, rugby, football, swimming, sport climbing and table tennis.

During the game we lead our self-created avatar to victory. An extensive editor allows us to select the gender and decide on the appearance of our athlete, as well as choose his outfit from a wardrobe that includes national team outfits as well as more fancy costumes such as a pirate or an astronaut costume.

Game modes

In Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game can be played solo or in multiplayer mode for up to eight people (online or locally). In addition, you can show off your achievements on online leaderboards.
