Of Mice and Sand: Revised Description
Of Mice and Sand: Revised is a 2D strategy game, in which you command a rodent crew of a large vehicle traversing a distant desert planet. The production is an enhanced version of Of Mice and Sand released for Nintendo 3DS in 2017. It was developed by Arc System Works, the creators of e.g. Guilty Gear.
Mechanics
Of Mice and Sand: Revised is a typical strategy game, similar to Fallout Shelter or This War of Mine. Your task is to dig out objects buried in the desert sand. To do this, you use a large sand vehicle and its rodent crew. You travel through locations, assigning tasks to the mice, and upgrade the vehicle by adding more sections (such as bedrooms or workshops) or weapons to neutralize threats. The junk you gather can be used to craft various items thanks to the expansive crafting system. The Revised edition also includes new maps and enemies, unavailable in the Nintendo 3DS version.
Game mode
Of Mice and Sand: Revised features only a single player mode.
Technical aspects
The game features simple, old-school 2D visuals, with low resolution and large pixels. However, the production looks quite nice, in no small part thanks to interesting location design and subdued but distinct colors.
