No More Room in Hell is a free co-op action game where we try to survive in a world overrun by zombies. The game was born as a mod to the Half-Life 2 shooter, but was later turned into a standalone title. The game was developed by a team known only as the No More Room in Hell Team. The publisher is Lever Games.
Plot
The plot of No More Room in Hell is just a pretext for uninhibited play. The plot is clearly inspired by George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Human civilisation has been destroyed by a mysterious disease that causes the dead to rise from their graves and try to kill the living. The player takes on the role of one of the survivors trying to live in a new reality.
Mechanics
In No More Room in Hell we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The game is divided into missions, during which the aim of the team of players is to survive and complete a specific task (it is worth noting that they are random, so that each game looks a little different).
During the game we have to fight with the undead. The game features dozens of weapon types - from pistols, to shotguns and rifles, to a chainsaw.
The key is cooperation with other players, assisted by voice communication (the system responsible for this was designed to be dependent on the distance between players - the further away you are from another person, the harder it is to hear him or her, and vice versa).
In the world of No More Room in Hell there is a shortage of ammunition, so every bullet is precious. The developers also focused on a minimalist interface and implemented a system that makes it so that just one zombie bite can be enough to kill our character - we then have to decide whether to warn other players of our situation, or remain silent and risk turning against them.
Game modes
In No More Room in Hell we can only play with others. The core of the gameplay is a online co-op mode created for up to eight players.
Technical aspects
No More Room in Hell features 3D graphics that don't stand out in any particular way. Character models and the game environment are characterised by a decent level of detail, but in terms of technology the game is slightly behind other game of this type.
