Nexus 2: The Gods Awaken is the second part of Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, a real time space strategy from 2004. The title takes us 25 years into the future in relation to the events known from the "only one". The galactic threat of Mechanoids was eliminated, and people continued their exploration and dispersed all over the universe, reaching previously unknown constellations and discovering alien planets.
In the meantime, technology has evolved and people with unprecedented PSI capabilities have emerged. They are able to bend the laws of physics according to their own preferences. Although they are another valuable step in human evolution, they are also proving to be the cause of a new, serious crisis. Humanity is again in danger of extinction - this time from the mysterious cosmic race, which hunts people with PSI abilities and will not hesitate to provoke an interstellar war in order to achieve its goal.
Once again we play the role of Marcus Cromwell, the hero of "the only one". The gameplay has gained a handful of new options, the most important of which is the introduction of weapons using the power of PSI. Two new playable races are also appearing - religious fanatics under the name Siblings and the mysterious Creator - each with its own distinctive star ships and weapons. Other factions received new units, and those who like to have everything under the control of the players will certainly be pleased with the implementation of the module of building their own ships.
