NeuroVoider Description
NeuroVoider is a retro-style roguelike twin-stick shooter with RPG elements. The title was developed by Flying Oak Games and published by Plug In Digital.
Plot
NeuroVoider begins when the world we know has just ceased to exist, and the army of soulless robots responsible for its annihilation begins celebrating the victory. We play as one of the four remaining survivors, and our task is to show the machines that attacking the humanity wasn't the best idea.
Mechanics
The mechanics of NeuroVoider refer to classic top-down shooters and the fun is focused on dynamic action with numerous projectiles and spectacular explosions happening on the screen. Like most of this type of games, the player's goal is to defeat waves of enemies and demanding bosses. To prevent monotony, all the fun takes place on procedurally generated levels, which provides a unique experience with every playthrough. The developers have also created a unique system of generating opponents - according to the developers, there are exactly 8,736 types of enemies. The whole is enriched with RPG elements - we can use parts of the defeated opponents to create many useful improvements and develop our character between the missions.
Game modes
NeuroVoider was designed mainly for local cooperation games for up to four players. However, nothing stands in the way of eliminating hordes of robots alone.
Technical aspects
NeuroVoider refers to the classics of the genre not only because of the mechanics, but also the old-school, pixeled graphics. The gameplay is accompanied by a soundtrack by the well-known French electro artist Dan Terminus.
