A mobile RPG that resembles the famous Pokemon series. The players assume the role of a young boy who intends to become a master monster trainer. In the game, we traverse locations in search of new beasts. The fun boils down to catching encountered creatures and training them to make a team that will then be sent to fight other trainers' creatures.

Neo Monsters is a game reminiscent of the famous Pokemon series. The production was created by ZigZaGame (studio known for Hunter Island), and the publisher is NTT Resonant - a special branch of Japanese telecommunication company NTT Communications. The title is available for a small fee and features microtransactions.

Story

The story told in Neo Monsters is not very surprising. Players take on the role of the heir to the estate of their uncle, who lived in the city of Othlon. However, we will not sit idly at home, because our charge intends to become a master trainer of monsters, in which we have to help him.

Mechanics

Neo Monsters is an RPG, where we travel through new locations in search of new creatures. The world prepared by the developers is vast, so it has been divided into six smaller zones. Fun, like in the Pokemon games, consists of catching the creatures we encounter, which we can then train, increasing their abilities. All this in order to create a team from the monsters we own, which we put up for fighting with other trainers.

In total, more than 900 creatures are waiting to be captured, divided into several main categories (fire, water, shadow, etc.). Each of them has strengths and weaknesses, and e.g. a creature assigned to the fire element does a great job against ground beings, but has big problems with water. Therefore, the team should be assembled in such a way as to be prepared for various enemies. In addition, some of the beasts are able to cooperate with others, which enables us to execute stronger attacks.

We fight against both AI-controlled opponents and other players. In addition, we can perform special missions, enabling us to reach higher positions in the world ranking of trainers.

Technical aspects

Graphically, Neo Monsters resembles other two-dimensional jRPGs. The production is characterized by manga visuals, the story is told with the help of static scenes, during which we have to wade through many windows with dialogue lines, and during the combat there is no shortage of various flashes and light effects.
