Mechanics

NecroCity is a real-time strategy game combining city builder and tower defense mechanics. Our task is to create undead cities and repel invasions by enemy forces.

Each playthrough starts on an empty map where we must set up our first outpost. To acquire workforce, we'll mostly resort to raising the dead. Aside from regular skeletons we can also recruit ghosts and ask ghouls for help. The workers gather resources and construct buildings. Over time, our town grows, unlocking useful upgrades.

Sooner or later, however, we'll always come under attack by enemy forces. It's thus important to turn at least some of our workforce into warriors. Just like in tower defense games, combat revolves around building automatic defensive structures. The buildings and our soldiers can be upgraded. The game offers a great deal of freedom thanks to the mod system, which lets us freely add various effects to attacks and weapons. For example, we can enhance fireballs with lightning bolts, making them even deadlier.

Game modes

The game is only playable in singleplayer.

NecroCity's 3D visuals make use of an appealing, slightly cartoonish artstyle.
