Nebulous: Fleet Command

Nebulous: Fleet Command is a sci-fi strategy battle game. It was developed and published by Eridanus Industries studio, for which it was a debut project.

Game mechanics

This is an RTS, in which we command star fleets taking part in space battles. Nebulous: Fleet Command focuses on the tactical layer. Our task is only to win battles. No economical elements are present here.

The authors have prepared an extensive battle mechanics. They take place in full 3D, which opens up additional tactical options, allowing us to attack enemies from all sides, not just on a two-dimensional plane. The design of the maps interacts with this - they are large and offer many obstacles behind which to hide, such as asteroids or gaseous planets.

The use of radar to discover enemy actions and their army formation plays a key role in the game. Its readings are never fully accurate, especially since they can be fooled by the specifics of the maps, so it is necessary to analyze the incoming data and, based on this, predict the movements of the opposing side and the forces it possesses.

Nebulous: Fleet Command also has an extensive unit damage system. Ships do not have simple "life points." Instead, each has armor of varying strength depending on where it is installed, as well as internal systems, and the game simulates damage to each of these elements and changes the behavior of the unit based on that. On top of that, there is a crew on board who, if hit, attempt to restore functionality, according to the priorities we set.

Game modes

The game allows us to play solo against AI or in multiplayer mode, where we compete with other players in PvP battles.
