NBA 2KVR Experience

NBA 2KVR Experience is a compilation of arcade basketball minigames developed with VR headsets in mind. The title was developed by Specular Interactive and was released, among other platforms, for PC and PS4.

Mechanics

In NBA 2KVR Experience, we observe the action from the first-person perspective. The player assumes the role of a basketballer trained under the supervision of an All-Star player, Paul George. The available disciplines include Three-Point Shootout, in which we have to take as many three-point shots as possible before time runs out, Time Attack that has us score possibly the largest number of goals within a minute, Skills Challenge, forcing the player to bounce the ball off a series of targets to eventually make an accurate shot, and last but not least, Buzzer Beater which requires us to make as many accurate shots as possible in a given time while having only ten balls scattered around the floor. Moreover, we can use the so-called Gatorade Boosts — special power-ups that let us increase accuracy, speed, and condition.

Technical aspects

NBA 2KVR Experience for PC and PS4 is characterized by high-quality three-dimensional graphics. The production requires both a VR headset and dedicated controllers which reflect our hands’ movement in the movement of the player’s in-game avatar.
