NASCAR 21: Ignition is the next installment in a series of racing games dedicated to the popular North American form of stock car racing. It was published and developed by Motorsport Games. The game is available in both standard and Champions edition. Those who decided to buy the racing game in the pre-sale (regardless of the chosen version) could count on access to the game two days before its official premiere.
Mechanics
In the game, players have the opportunity to compete in a series of racing events based on those organised by the largest stock car racing organisation - NASCAR ( National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). The developers wanted to reflect the real competition as closely as possible, so official drivers, vehicles and teams were put into game. Races are preceded by broadcasts and followed by replays. The track pack has also been updated to reflect the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series schedule. In total, the game offers more than 40 different tracks, including Circuit of the Americas, Daytona Road Course and Nashville Superspeedway.
One of the additional gameplay enhancements is also the new Paint Booth, allowing for greater vehicle customisation through a wider range of paint scheme options.
Champions Edition
Purchasing the Champions Edition gives players access to additional features consisting of Season Pass containing 3 monthly content drops each with 55 alternative paint schemes, one alternative driver and one legendary driver. This edition also unlocks an additional playable character - racing champion Bill Elliott.
Champions Edition also offers a special career boost pack that allows the player to sign a full season contract with any team of their choice. This option allows the player to compete straight away with a championship-calibre team, which will save him from signing with an underfunded team on a part-time contract.
Game modes
This game allows you to play both solo and in a larger group, in the form of online competition.
The game's Race Now mode immediately throws the player into the action, allowing them to take control of one of the series' official drivers, while the Career mode allows them to gradually build their reputation as they face off against others in a battle for the podium.
Technical aspects
NASCAR 21: Ignition, developed on the Unreal Engine and rFactor engines, features 3D graphics, with realistic vehicle physics and more dynamic AI. The entire game is topped off by a soundtrack consisting of tracks by artists such as MGK, Imagine Dragons, Aerosmith and Luke Combs.
