Release Date: January 31, 2025
Simulation, 2D, life sim, indie games, side-scroll, singleplayer
Steam
A life simulator similar to Rusty's Retirement. My Little Life can be played using only a small portion of the screen, allowing us to have an occasional distraction from doing other things. We control the little people, making decisions that will affect their otherwise fully automated lives.
My Little Life is a life simulation game developed by the independent British studio 9Finger Games. It uses mechanics reminiscent of the Rusty's Retirement game from the similar genre.
Gameplay
Playing "on the fly"
My Little Life does not run in full screen, but in a fragment of it (bottom or side of the screen), which allows us to play during breaks from doing other things. The mechanics have also been adapted to devote attention to this title only occasionally, as most processes have been automated. Moreover, there is no point in looking for events requiring immediate reaction or pop-up windows and loud notifications here.
Pleasant and prosperous life
Watching the action from the side, we take control of one of the little characters in the game. The choices we make shape their personal and professional life, setting the path they will follow. There is nothing to prevent us from going with our protagonist (male or female) from being unemployed to being a lucky person leading a prosperous life as a streamer, farmer or even a hacker.
As our character progresses in their profession, they earn more money, allowing them to build a house and decorate it as they see fit. By fulfilling the dreams of our little person, we accumulate realization points, which we spend on fulfilling increasingly diverse (and increasingly expensive) whims.
The game allows us to control several characters at the same time, who can live together or separately, leading separate lives and achieving their own goals.
Graphics
The graphic design of My Little Life was made in pixel art technique.
