Monstrum II is a continuation of a survival horror titled Monstrumthat was published in 2015. During the game, the player must escape from the place taken over by the monster. Unlike the previous installment, the game is designed for multiplayer mode. The game was created by Team Junkfish studio.

Plot

The action of Monstrum II takes place in an abandoned sea fortress, where mysterious experiments take place that result in the creation of the titular monstrum. The task of the group of players is to avoid the monster and escape from this dark place.

Mechanics

Monstrum II is a first-person survival horror. The production again emphasizes the randomness of the game: the sea fortress consists of procedurally generated rooms and corridors. The task of a group of four players is to survive the confrontation with the monster that prowls about the outpost. The fifth participant in the game takes control of the creature.

Players can choose between two strategies - cooperation with other survivors or a lonely fight. Since one cannot kill a monster, players must avoid detection at all costs. Hiding places and distractions can be used for this purpose. In addition, if players cooperate with one another, they can destroy or climb different objects. In this way they can find hidden passages and obtain equipment that will help them escape.
