Spin-off Monster Rancher cycle, in which our task is to overcome obstacle ridden routes in the skin of one of the several different monsters. The title allows you to play alone or to compete with another player; it is also equipped with a track editor.

Monster Rancher Hop-A-Bout is a spin-off of the Monster Rancher series, developed by Tecmo (now Koei Tecmo).

Mechanics

In Monster Rancher Hop-A-Bout the action is shown from the third-person perspective. We take control of one of several monsters inhabiting the fantasy world created for the Monster Rancher series. They are differentiated in terms of appearance as well as acceleration, maximum speed and jump height.

The title enables us to take part in a competition, in which our task is to complete the routes full of various obstacles within the set time; the matter is complicated by the fact that the creature is constantly jumping, which means that only a moment of inattention is enough to fall off the track, for example. In addition, there are special fields on the maps - while some hide useful power-ups that add life to our charges or raise the time limit, others can propel the monster in a certain direction, slow it down or even severely injure it.
