Plot

Minabo: A Walk Through Life is set in a fantasy land inhabited by humanoid... turnips. We play as one of such vegetables, leading them through their life, from birth to death.

Mechanics

Minabo: A Walk Through Life is a side-scroller. The player must name their turnip and start a long journey that is their life. Journey here is in a nearly literal sense, as the time passes with each step we take. This is illustrated by our turnip growing, the changing seasons and the transforming world.

As we progress, we watch our turnip mature and establish relationships with other turnips. By talking to them and interacting with them we build up a circle of friends and acquaintances, soon even founding families and having baby turnips. We can also adopt radishes to serve as pets. Everything we do affects the traits of our turnip, its strengths and weaknesses, as well as how it interacts with the world and it inhabitants. We can also wear various hats which provide us with additional effects and grant us more options to choose from.

Unfortunately, no one lives forever, and the same is the case here. When our turnip dies, the game displays a summary we can share with our friends. The game's world is procedurally generated, making each new life different from the previous one, encouraging the player to keep adventuring and discovering new attractions.
