Might & Magic: Heroes VI - Pirates of the Savage Sea Description
Pirates of the Savage Sea is the first DLC expansion to the turn-based strategy game Might & Magic: Heroes VI, which was released in 2011. The vanilla version of the game, as well as the 1.5 patch, which brought back the renowned, picturesque town screens known from the earlier instalments of the series, is required in order to run the expansion. This time the newest title was developed by the Limbic Entertainment studio.
Plot
The story begins a year after the events of the original campaign. More and more ships are lost without trace in mysterious storms on the titular Savage Sea. These waters were always regarded as a dangerous area, however, in various tavern rumours began to spread that these recent events are not merely caused by the wrath of mother nature. You step into the shoes of Crag Hack – a legendary hero, who is hired by the Pirate Council to track down the truth behind these missing ships. It is worth mentioning, that the character of Crag Hack has also appeared in previous instalments of the series.
Mechanics
Pirates of the Savage Sea features a new singleplayer campaign, which is only two missions long. The expansion also offers a new dynasty weapon, a new map, the Thunderbird creature and the ability to recruit elementals at a special building on the map. New heroes and artefacts have also been added in. The core principles of the gameplay have not been subject to any change. The title is still a turn-based strategy game, in which we travel through extensive locations, gather resources, develop cities, recruit units and engage in battles. Similarly to the vanilla version of the game, RPG elements play an important role in the expansion, allowing you to develop the skills of your heroes and make difficult moral choices, which directly impact the reputation of your character.
