Metal Dead is the debut game of Australian studio Walk Thru Walls, created by Liam O'Sullivan and Robert Wriedt. Developers were guided by the goal of creating a game that would refer to classic adventures from the turn of the 80's and 90's of the last century with its specific plot, visual setting and gameplay.

The action of the game is set in a world of zombie invasion. The main character, the heavymetalist Malcolm, initially intended to wait for the whole apartment in his house. However, at the instigation of his friend, Ronnie decides to flee. So they both get into the car and, by squeezing gas into their breath, make their way through hordes of living corpses. Unluckily, however, they find their way to the very source of the problem, i.e. the MediGeniTech clinic.

The player's task is to help Malcolm and Ronnie get out of the research complex, and at the same time save the remaining people. However, there are zombies walking through the laboratory rooms.

As befits a classic adventure with a point'n'click interface, Metal Dead gameplay is mainly about exploring locations, talking to independent characters, searching for useful items and solving puzzles related to, among other things, combining elements of equipment and finding untypical applications for them.

The audiovisual setting refers to the era of 8-bit and 16-bit computers. Two-dimensional graphics largely resembles pixeled drawings from school notebooks. The party is accompanied by a background music in midi format.
