Plot
The game takes place during World War II, and introduces 19 missions divided into three separate campaigns, one for each side of the conflict – Germany, Soviet Union, and Allies. The plot is especially focused around two Russian students that decided to join the army, quickly creating a powerful bond.
Mechanics
We are left with over 50 types of units, deployed on numerous battlefields in Northern Africa, Greece, Russia, Germany, as well as Italy or Ukraine. During the game, the players use a re-modeled, modifiable interface. Additional 5 missions await once we personalize the interface and complete all campaigns. The multiplayer mode also received new updates and add-ons, including a new nation – Japan, as well as new gameplay modes, such as Capture the Flag, or High Value Cargo. We can also investigate our enemies by checking their statistics and online rating.
Technical Aspects
When it comes to graphics, Men of War for PC offers realistic landforms, vehicles, and weapons, faithfully recreated using their real-life counterparts. The game also contains numerous sound effects, including new additions in form of hundred sounds representing gunshots and other sounds of warfare.

Game Expansions for Men of War
Men of War: Vietnam
Expansion
Strategy
September 9, 2011
The third standalone expansion for Men of War, a real-time strategy game. Similarly to the vanilla game and its two previous add-ons, it was developed by Best Way. This time around, the players can take part in the Vietnam War, fought in years 1955-1975 by US-backed South Vietnam and North Vietnam, supported in turn by the Communist Bloc. Both sides of the conflict have their separate story campaigns. The missions we have to complete include rescuing American prisoners, taking over important strategic points, and eliminating enemy officers. The title also lets us participate in historical events, such as ambushes on the Ho Chi Minh trail or defending a bridge during the Tet Offensive. Men of War: Vietnam gives the players control of a squad of several specialized units, while the gameplay itself is focused mostly on performing silent and precise missions.
Men of War: Assault Squad
Expansion
Strategy
February 25, 2011
A stand-alone expansion for a war-themed RTS game created by Best Way (a Ukrainian developer) and released in December, 2007. In terms of game mechanics, Assault Squad does not stray far from the formula of the base game - the player fights in various places the Second World War left its mark on, taking control over American, Soviet and German, as well as previously unavailable British and Japanese squads. Contrary to the base game, the expansion focuses mainly on multiplayer experience, offering four modes, namely the Frontlines, Combat, Assault Zones and Skirmish. For those preferring single-player games, the creators prepared fifteen missions to be played in the Skirmish mode - one can compete against their friends or bots and their goal is to take over the outposts scattered throughout the map. Men of War: Assault Squad utilizes an improved version of the engine used by the core game, which had a positive effect mainly on the visuals and vehicle models, making them look more realistic.
Men of War: Red Tide
Expansion
Strategy
August 14, 2009
A standalone expansion for Men of War, a real-time strategy game by Best Way, a studio also known for Faces of War and Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. Similarly to the vanilla game, Men of War: Red Tide is set during World War II. This time around, we assume the role of a commander of a special unit of Soviet naval forces. The main feature of the add-on is an extensive story campaign inspired by the works of Alexander Zorich. It is complemented by several scenarios presenting historical battles from years 1941-1945. Moreover, Men of War: Red Tide offers many new units, including tanks, cannons, armored trains, ships, artillery, and so on. We can also make use of air and naval support, including fighters, bombers, hydroplanes, cruisers, destroyers, and other, smaller vessels. The game features Soviet, German, Romanian, and Italian forces. Warfare is conducted in such cities as Odessa, Sevastopol, or Constanta.
