Mato Anomalies is an RPG with detective elements. The project was developed by the Arrowiz team, known for such productions as Hermitage: Strange Case Files and Beats Fever.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in Mato, a fictional city that is a neo-futuristic version of the old part of Shanghai. Strange events, which cannot be rationally explained, have been taking place in this place for some time. They have to do with demonic forces that enter the world of mortals through the so-called Ripples.

The game tells the story of two heroes trying to save Mato from the invasion of evil forces. One of them is a private detective named Doe, and the other is an exorcist Gram, who specializes in fighting demons.

Game mechanics

Mato Anomalies is an RPG, in which mechanisms typical of the genre are enriched with detective elements. We explore the city, complete tasks, develop heroes and fight battles using a turn-based combat system. While fighting we command a team, which consists not only of a pair of main characters, but also companions recruited during adventures.

At the same time, we have to conduct an investigation that will allow us to discover what exactly is happening in Mato. To do this, we interrogate witnesses, gather evidence and solve occasional logic puzzles.

A key element of the gameplay is also exploring the Rifts. With their help we can get into the world of demons. It hides the most powerful items and the most valuable rewards, but surviving these expeditions is a real challenge.

The game has only a single-player mode.

Technical aspects

Mato Anomalies features an eye-pleasing three-dimensional graphics done in a cartoon style, the main advantage of which is an attractively designed city.
