Man O’ War: Corsair for PC is an action game seen from a third person perspective that gives us the command over a pirate ship. The game is based on a tabletop game from Games Workshop called Man O’ War, which is a part of Warhammer Fantasy universe. The video adaptation was developed by Evil Twin Games, a studio known for projects such as GooHoo or Victory at Sea. The gameplay of Corsair focuses on exploring an open world, marked with numerous ports and havens. Our career as a corsair can have a more peaceful tone, keeping our activities to trade and commerce, or the player can choose to engage in real buccaneering – the sea is often patrolled by enemy vessels, ripe for the picking. The sea battles are the highlight of the game. During a battle, we can employ various types of ships and cannons, as well as try out different compositions of the crew, which can include ranged units and sorcerers. The list of our enemies include orcs and dark elves, while sometimes our ship crosses paths with prowling sea monsters – a situation which often ends in a spectacular encounter. Other interesting elements introduced by the developer include dynamic weather system that influence the sail, as well as a day and night cycle.
