Make Sail Description
Make Sail is a fantasy sailing sandbox released on PC. The production was developed by the American studio Popcannibal, the developers of, e.g. Elegy for a Dead World or Girls Like Robots.
Plot
The action takes place in the magical fantasy land, and the player takes on the role of a sailor who wants to explore new lands. The game is a sandbox and does not have a clearly defined scenario. Instead, we choose our own tasks and direction of travel.
Mechanics
Make Sail revolves around constructing ships and using them for exploration. The units we create are not limited to sea waters and can also glide through the clouds.
The game offers a wide range of options for constructing ships. We manually assemble them from parts and have a wide range of boards, masts, sails, engines, and balloons at our disposal. The game uses an extensive physical engine, taking into account, among other things, the density and weight of materials meaning that our creations must be properly balanced and designed with sense. Initially, we start with a modest sailboat, but the discovery of new islands gives us access to new materials, allowing us to build larger and more complex units.
The physical engine also governs the behavior of ships at sea and in the air. Controlling a unit is not easy and you have to put a lot of effort into mastering this skill. This task isn't easy - the game features dangerous magical storms and numerous obstacles. Collisions with can destroy our boat.
The game world is procedurally generated, so every time new adventures and challenges await us. This includes the location and shape of the islands, available materials and the animals living in this world.
Technical aspects
Make Sail has an eye-catching three-dimensional graphics design, the biggest advantage of which are interesting designs of islands and elements used in the construction of ships.
