Mages of Mystralia is an action RPG developed by Borealys Games. The game takes place in a fantasy world where people with magical powers are feared and despised by those without them. Zia, the protagonist, learned it the hard way. After being banished from her home village, she embarks on a journey with a plan to train her magical powers and meet other people like her.
Mages of Mystralia for PC, PS4 and XONE is a fantasy action RPG and the first game developed by the Canadian studio Borealys Games.
The Plot
Mages of Mystralia for PC, PS4 and XONE takes place in a fantasy world where people with magical powers are feared and despised by those who can’t. We play as Zia, a young sorceress who was banished from her home village. Our hero decides to go on a journey to master her talents and meet other people capable of using magic.
The game’s story and universe are the creation of Ed Greenwood, creator of Forgotten Realms, Dungeons & Dragons’ most popular realm.
Mechanics
Mages of Mystralia for PC, PS4 and XONE is a typical action RPG where we will spend most of our time on exploration, quests, and on fighting with enemies. Combat system is based on using spells only. Zia will find runes during her adventures that unlock certain magical properties. We can freely combine them and create almost as many new spells as we want to. Zia’s combat capability depends on how many spells she can use.
Gameplay is fast paced, almost like in an olschool first-person shooter. In order to be successful in battle, we have to not only be creative when creating spells, but also have to have good reflexes. We will also use Zia’s spells when solving puzzles and riddles.
