Mage Gauntlet, available on AND and iOS, is an action RPG that takes place in a fantasy world. The game was developed by RocketCat Games studio, the authors of games such as Wayward Souls and Death Road to Canada.
Plot
Mage Gauntlet takes place in a typical fantasy land that was haunted by evil in the form of a demon named Hurgoth centuries ago. The world was saved from annihilation by a mage called Whitebeard. However, he wasn't strong enough to kill his enemy. Instead, the mage imprisoned the demon in another dimension. Such a solution couldn't work forever - at the start of the game, Hurgoth's seals begin to crack and his magic is corrupting the world of mortals more and more strongly.
We play as a girl called Lexi, whose touch can destroy any spell and magic object. She is invited to the Whitebeard's tower, who hopes to heal hte girl. Of course, it will soon turn out that Lexi is the only person who can permanently kill Hurgoth. All this sounds very standard, but Mage Gauntlet does not take its story seriously. Instead, the scenario regularly laughs at the dubious schemes of the fantasy genre and RPG games, although it never crosses the line that would make it a parody.
Mechanics
Mage Gauntlet, released on AND and iOS, was inspired by 16-bit console RPGs, especially the Secret of Mana series. The events are observed from a camera placed high above the characters' head. The gameplay consists of exploring the locations and fighting hordes of monsters. The combat system is largely arcade and offers a high level of development, allowing the player to use various weapons and attacks. The battles are very fast-paced - this dynamism is enhanced by the fact that the heroine can dodge and charge.
The game also features a character development system that allows you to adjust the character's skills to your own style. In addition, there is an abundance of various types of objects, which also have a significant impact on combat. Among them, there are almost a hundred of various headgears - all of these hats and helmets have certain functions.
