Plot
The game's protagonist is Imë - the titular Lysfanga, the guardian of the kingdom of Antala. After five centuries of peace, hordes of demons known as the Raxes break free out of ancient cities locked in time.
Imë, fortunately, can count on the support of the Goddess of Time. Thanks to her blessing, she can rewind time in combat and summon remnants of herself from but a few moments away.
This lets her create an army greater than that of any previous Lysfanga, granting her a chance to get rid of the Raxes once and for all. Soon, however, it turns out they're not the sole threat to Antala, as they've been freed by a much more powerful force.
Mechanics
To discover the truth, the player must complete dozens of levels swarmed by enemies. Imë explores the Raxes' ancient cities, wielding various weapons, spells and rewinding time. Combat is very fast-paced, thus it's important to constantly adjust one's strategy to the events on the screen.
Beating levels quickly provides us with additional rewards. It is therefore worthwhile to break one's own records while enabling combat modifiers to make the game more challenging.
Technical aspects
Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior makes use of an isometric perspective and an intriguing artstyle, combining comic book visuals with surrealist art. The game is exclusively singleplayer and features postgame.
