An erotic Polish adventure game in the convention of psychological horror in which we play Victor Holloway - a freshly baked member of the Cult of Ecstasy, trying to get to Lusst'ghaa, a gloomy land of pain and pleasure. The work of Movie Games Lunarium is a continuation of Lust for Darkness.
Lust from Beyond is a continuation of Lust for Darkness published in 2018. Like its predecessor, the game developed by independent Polish studio Movie Games Lunarium is an adventure game following the convention of psychological horror. Among the sources of inspiration, the authors mention not only the works of Zdzislaw Beksinski but also the works of H.R. Giger and H.P. Lovecraft.
Plot
The main protagonist of Lust from Beyond is Victor Holloway - an antiquarian plagued with visions depicting the gloomy land of pleasure and pain. The protagonist joins the Cult of Ecstasy in order to find answers to his questions. By learning about the rituals performed by the cultists, Holloway gives them clues to enable them to enter the Lusst'ghaa dimension introduced by the previous installment; it is inhabited by beings with deformed bodies that allow them to experience endless ecstasy.
Mechanics
In Lust from Beyond the action is shown from the first person perspective (FPP). Traveling through a gloomy Victorian residence and the dark land of Lusst'ghaa, players have to sneak past stronger enemies, look for useful items, and solve environmental puzzles encountered along the way. In addition, players can interact with neutral characters, who give them valuable information about the in-game world. Unlike Lust from Darkness, this game also allows players to fight.
Technical aspects
Lust from Beyond delivers high-quality visuals. Both objects and elements of the environment are rich with details, as well as the models of characters. The whole experience is complemented by an atmospheric soundtrack.
