Lunar Lander Beyond is a sci-fi action game and a sequel to 1979's arcade Lunar Lander. It was developed by Dreams Uncorporated, an indie studio known for Cris Tales. The game's visuals are colorful and hand-drawn.
Plot
The playable character is a captain working for the Pegasus corporation, leading their crew on dangerous missions all across the universe.
One day, however, a mysterious portal to an uncharted planet is discovered, daunting even for the bravest of explorers. Those who do go through must exhibit skill, cunning and strength of mind.
Mechanics
Lunar Lander Beyond is a 2D game, in which players control a spaceship. There are thirty missions to take part in, taking place on different globes and moons, including Mars, Ganimedes and Etimus. We'll get to acquire valuable resources, save pilots in need or deliver cargo, helped by procedurally generated crewmates.
There are four controllable spaceships, which can be upgraded and adapted to our needs over time. We must also take care of our crew's mental health - unsteady flight, fatigue and danger all stress them out. Stress can cause hallucinations or even drive them mad. This will make it difficult for them to separate fiction from reality.
Lunar Lander Beyond features four difficulty levels - the hardest introduces permadeath.
