Lucifer Within Us is an adventure game that allows us to take on the role of an unusual, digital exorcist. The game was developed by an independent Canadian studio Kitfox Games, whose portfolio includes The Shrouded Isle.

Plot

Lucifer Within Us takes us on a journey to a fantastic universe, to be precise, to a city built on the ruins of the old world, the last bastion of progress, digitization and art. The inhabitants of this utopia are plagued by demons operating in digital space, and the fight against them involves people like the main character, Ada, who are digital exorcists at the service of the Inquisition that cares to keep order.

Mechanics

In Lucifer Within Us we observe the action from the top-down view. In the course of the game, we investigate the mysteries of the city and discover the identity of criminals possessed by digital demons.

In order to get to the truth, we must carefully search crime scenes for evidence and interrogate witnesses and suspects. Sinners often try to lie, so we should listen carefully to their testimony, trying to find their weaknesses. However, when the statements of the other people are in conflict with each other, we have no choice but to confront them and decide who is telling the truth and who is trying to lie to us. Moreover, Ada's supernatural abilities allow her to delve into the minds of her the people and discover the secrets hidden in their subconscious. Only by collecting enough evidence will we be able to reconstruct the correct course of events (which we do by putting the relevant excerpts from the testimony on the timeline) and discover the identity of the perpetrator.
