A mobile version of the popular browser game, Card Hunter, developed by Blue Manchu and DropForge Games. The action of Loot & Legends is set in a typical fantasy land and the gameplay boils down to exploring dungeons and fighting encountered monsters. The game is divided into modules, each having a completely different, self-encompassing story.

Loot & Legends for AND and iOS is a turn-based fantasy strategy game with elements of RPG and board games. The production uses the free-to-play business model and is a reworked version of the browser title entitled Card Hunter. The original was developed by Blue Manchu, while the port was created by DropForge Games.

Mechanics

The action of Loot & Legends is set in a standard fantasy land, while the gameplay boils down mainly to exploring dungeons and fighting monsters. These things take place in modules, each having its own complete story. Initially, we have access only to several such adventure but with time we can unlock more.

The title is a turn-based strategy production enriched with elements taken from board and collectible card games. The gameplay rules are simple to master and offer great depth as well as great balance. Such high quality of mechanics come as no surprise since they were designed by Richard Garfield, the author of the incredibly popular CCG entitled Magic: The Gathering.

The combat system is turn-based and battles take place on maps covered with a grid of squares. While fighting, we command a several-member party of adventurers. Every action, starting with movement, through attack, block, or special abilities, is performed by playing cards that we draw from the deck. The gameplay is enriched with RPG elements. With time, our heroes gain experience points and advance to higher levels which gives them more hit points and extra card slots.

Technical aspects

Loot & Legends for AND and iOS was designed to imitate RPG gaming sessions that are played at a table with figurines and paper maps. Thanks to this, the graphics have a unique style that makes the title look more interesting.
