Lonewolf is a sniper game released for AND and iOS. The game by SHD Games studio is available in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
Plot
Unlike most games of this type, Lonewolf places great emphasis on the storyline aspect. We play the role of a young sniper, who by completing a difficult order got into the ranks of an elite group of paid assassins known as The Assembly.
The story is very extensive and is told through numerous cut-scenes. As the story unfolds, we slowly observe how all the murders committed by the main character affect his psyche. We also learn the real reason why he decided to work for a group of ruthless criminals. All this was done in the noir convention.
Mechanics
As befits a game of this type, the gameplay in Lonewolf is based mainly on eliminating targets from long distances using a sniper rifle. Orders often require us to complete them quietly - we have to be clever to prevent the guards from triggering an alarm. The levels quickly start to resemble logical puzzles, requiring us to come up with a sequence of murders. For example, hitting a driver in a parked car will cause his head to hit a horn, luring out the mercenary out of a safe location. The fun is diversified by short sequences of more dynamic action, in which we fight with our fists, guns or rifles.
We receive virtual currency for the successful execution of orders. We can spend it on new rifles and improve the ones we already have, e.g. by mounting indicators that make it easier to find out how much impact the wind and gravity will have on the bullet.
