Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time

Little Witch Academia for PC and PS4 is an action role-playing game. It was developed by A+ Games and published by Namco Entertainment.

Plot

The game is an adaptation of Little Witch Academia franchise by Japanese animation studio Trigger. The franchise consists of i.e. two short animated movies and an anime series.

Like the source material, Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time follows the story of a young girl called Atsuko “Akko” Kagari. She decided to follows in footsteps of her idol the powerful witch Shiny Chariot, and enrolls in the Luna Nova Magical Academy. The story starts at the beginning of the summer holidays, when Akko and her friends discover that the recent strange events in the schools were cause by the so-called Seven Wonders of the Academy. The girls now have to learn what exactly the Wonders are and then find a way to stop them.

Mechanics

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time for PC and PS4 is an action RPG with battle elements. You can only move left or right, and the gameplay focuses on developing the statistics of your team of three girls and fighting enemies. The combat system is very arcade-like, requiring good reflexes and proper use of a wirde range of attacks and spells.

When you're not fighting, you explore the safe places in the Academy and the neighborhood. Those parts of the game feature different mechanics. The world is rendered in full 3D, which allows you to visit every nook and cranny of the Academy. You also have to talk to NPCs and manage your relationships with other students.

Technical aspects

The game features pleasant, colorful visuals, which, despite the 3D character models and buildings, faithfully imitates the style of the Little Witch Academia movies and series.
