Light of Motiram Description
Light of Motiram is an open-world survival game very clearly inspired by the Horizon series. The game was developed by Polaris Quest studio, which belongs to Tencent company, and is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
Story
Light of Motiram takes us to a post-apocalyptic science fiction universe. There is no trace of the human civilization left, and the Earth was taken over by mechanical creatures known as mechanimals. However, people form primitive tribes reminiscent of prehistory, using only scraps of technology. During the game we embody a character who, fighting for survival, traverses this world and explores its mysteries.
Gameplay
In Light of Motiram we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game world features deserts, rainforests, and mountain peaks.
Resources and base construction
Our primary task in the game is the struggle for survival. For this purpose, we need to obtain food (including fishing), as well as gather necessary resources (primarily stones and wood).
The resources we obtain are used to build shelter. Although initially it may not look too impressive, over time it will turn into a fully-fledged base. We can opt for both impressive fortifications and lightweight structures placed, for example, on trees. It is worth remembering that our buildings are subject to the laws of physics, so we must make an effort to ensure that they are stable enough.
Mechanimals and combat system
Mechaanimals are varied in terms of appearance, size, and attitude towards our character. Each of them resembles a different creature, and since there are aggressive specimens among them, fighting against opponents plays an important role here.
During dynamic battles, we make use of melee weapons and ranged weapons such as swords, spears, axes, or bows. On the battlefield, we must be in constant motion, dodging, parrying blows, and launching quick counterattacks. Furthermore, indispensable support on the battlefield comes from the tamed "mechanimals", which we can train, upgrade and modify, adapting them to individual preferences and increasing their potential.
Some of the mechanical animals can also serve us as mounts and we can use them to quickly move around on land or in the air. On the other hand, we can use them, for example, to obtain resources.
Co-op
Light of Motiram allows to play alone, but the game is designed primarily for cooperative play for up to 10 players. It allows for a smooth transition from one gameplay variant to another.
